Ships Self Defense System (SSDS) Technician

Hepburn and Sons is seeking experienced SSDS Technicians with experience in performing comprehensive equipment and system level maintenance for the Ship’s Self Defense Systems found aboard Aircraft Carriers and large deck Amphibious Assault class ships, to be part of our experienced technical team at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops, Island, VA.

This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

• Perform comprehensive equipment and system level maintenance for the following Navy Combat systems:
• MK2 Mod 1B/2B/3B/4B
  
• MK2 Mod 1C/2C/3C/5C
  
• MK2 Mod 6C
  
• MK2 Mod 1E/2E/3E/4E
  
• Provide system/equipment configuration and operational support for all variants of the MK 2 Ship’s Self Defense Systems in support of Surface Combat System Center’s test requirements
• Schedule planned maintenance actions utilizing SKED program in accordance with the Navy’s Maintenance Material Management (3M) system and also be responsible for documenting all maintenance actions, including repair part requisitions, using the OMNS-NG program

• High School Diploma 
• DoD secret clearance 
• At least 3 years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on SSDS all MK 2 variants and BFTT
• PQS 301 qualification is required. If selected candidate is not PQS 301 qualified on or before hire date, he/she must be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualification within 3 months of employment
